About the Instructors
Jessica brings her many years of experience and passion for teaching to the field of massage therapy. Her desire for excellence has propelled her to grow the profession by providing high quality continuing education workshops.
In her practice, she provides massage therapy focussed on long-term solutions to reduce pain and aid in stress management.
Jackie has been a teacher at FSM since 1987. Her areas of expertise and teaching in the main program include Kinesiology, Orthopedic/Sports Massage, Advanced Upper extremity massage technique, Professional boundaries and Ethics, and Business Skills. In Kinesiology, she utilizes both clay and drawing on the body to enhance the student’s learning experience
Jackie has combined her love of and participation in sports with her 32+ years as a practicing massage therapist. By specializing in treating injuries and chronic tension patterns in her clients, she integrates her clinical experience in the classroom. Her love of teaching and passion for understanding the bio-mechanics of movement create a multidimensional approach for her students.
After 32+ years in practice, my work is still evolving. My own unique approach to deep tissue work feels more than anything else like a blend of intuition guided by my in-depth study of the body. Kinesiology, orthopedic assessment, they are all intertwined. I look for that gentle edge of pressure that feels effective but not to the point of pain which causes tension in the body.
Jackie has been consistently integrating hot and cold stones into her private practice for the past 10 years, complementing her approach to treating soft tissue injuries. Her clients love the deeply relaxing and soothing effects of stone therapy.
Jackie is the owner of Advanced Massage Professionals; a 12 person professional group practice in Gainesville, Fl. since 1994.
What participants say about our Hot Stone workshops…
“I had high expectations for this class and the class far exceeded them. It was wonderful!!!
“This was a great 2-day workshop. Many other massage CE courses feel long and drawn out, where most things could have been done in less time. This course was well worth the time and was necessary”
“The instructors broke things into useful chunks, were available during hands-on and made using the stones feel very doable for me”.
“This Hot Stone Therapy Workshop was informative, the instructors were very good at staying on track and keeping control of the class. I’ve taken CE’s for 35 years and this on is in my top 5”
“I felt like I could immediately incorporate the work into my existing practice”
