Jacqueline Ferber

Jacqueline Landis Ferber was trained at the highly reputable Florida School of Massage here in Gainesville, FL graduating in 1986. She then went on to complete over 1000 hours of advanced training in sports massage, injury evaluation, treatment and recovery.

In her 35 years of practice, Jacqui has specialized in and had wonderful success in treating sports injuries and soreness as well as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and chronic muscle tension patterns.

Jacqui has worked with the University of Florida swim, gymnastics, and track teams as well as professional triathletes, runners and local tennis players. As a former triathlete and current tennis player Jacqui is able to relate to the athlete from her own personal experience.

Jacqui utilizes a variety of massage techniques to treat soft tissue injuries and nerve entrapped areas which prevent a person from participating in the lifestyle or sport they desire. Interweaving her knowledge of kinesiology, with focused deep tissue, call for motion, stretching and hot and cold stone therapy, Jacqui combines specific deep tissue strokes with active movement and integrates various forms of hydrotherapy in her work.

Jacqui loves her work and enjoys working with a motivated clientele that want to expedite their own healing through massage and home care.

After more than 30 years in practice, my work is still evolving. My own unique approach to deep tissue work feels more than anything else, a blend of intuition guided by my in-depth study of the body. Kinesiology, orthopedic assessment, all intertwined. I look for that gentle edge of pressure that feels effective but not to the point of pain which causes tension in the body.

Jacqui has been teaching at the Florida School of Massage since 1987, and continues to teach Kinesiology, Ethics and Boundaries as well as continuing education in Hands-on Kinesiology, Carpal Tunnel and Thoracic Outlet Syndromes there today. She has been a member of the American Massage Therapy Association since 1989.

Jacqui opened Advanced Massage Professionals in 1994 to provide a warm, friendly therapeutic environment for therapists to work together in a group practice focused on giving clients an opportunity to enjoy a positive healthcare approach.
